Default Blue Dragon

Although I haven't completed the game, and as such can't pass final judgement, I can say that so far this game is being underrated.

If you can get over the cheese ball dialogue, and are a fan of (J)RPGs, I would recommend ignoring all the negative press and give it a rental.

Like most JRPGs in the past that don't have "Final Fantasy" in the title, Blue Dragon was almost destined to be underrated. Historically, critics have never given the sub-genre enough credit, and continually knock it for the same reasons that would apply to plenty of other genres...which is bizarre, but that's the way it is.

I want to play Blue Dragon myself at some point, because I've always loved JRPGs, and by now, I know enough not to bother too much about review scores for these types of games.

I tried the 360 demo and it didn't get my blood pumping. It reminded me of Dark Cloud 2 in appearance just obviously much more polished. I also found the battle system more than a little confusing.

No doubt if I fully understood the battle system I might find it more interesting.

The whole being able to automatically kill any creature you've battled before freaked me out and was a bit if a let down to be honest. Just because you were lucky enough to kill a creature once, doesn't mean that you'd do it every time unless your stats were far in excess of the opponent.

Had this for a while.....Played for about 3 hours and found I got bored pretty quickly. The battle system was OK, just did not keep me gripped. Hence traded in for GRAW2 and GoW. Much happier now...
