I was playing Forza when it first froze and I turned my system off.I turned it back on about an hour later thinking it was just a random freeze and I started playing Pacman CE and I got the red rings of death.

I have a two year warranty with MS that I bought when I first got the system,so I dont have to pay any money. My system is a launch unit and I bought it from walmart.com when systems were hard to come by,im kinda shocked my system lasted almost two years.Sucks I cant just walk into a bb or cc and get a new console.

Its just it could be two weeks or more till I have a working unit again and thats even if MS sends me a good one.

No 360 games,no live arcade,no demos,no hd dvd's...no fun

It happened to me a couple of times (3 times, to be more precise), randomly, but the 360 always came back up. Have you tried unplugging everything (including the HDD)?

I think it's my HDD connection that's flaky.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The thread at GAF is extremely long. I'm already on my 2nd 360. If it dies, I'm screwed, since it's out of warranty.

I did eveything the support info on xbox.com said to do and it's just dead.

I could get it on for awhile earlier today, but every game would freeze and now its just red lights every time and weird shit on the screen.

I take out the HDD and its red lights, complete system failure that has nothing to do with my drive.

Barret....I'm part of that thread now

I'm not sure if you got a "can of air" and maybe spray some in the fans in the back and stuff. I love by those cans to keep my 360, comp and everything else dust free. That blows man

Yeah, I saw that. Too bad I can post in it, due to being banned there.

zomg i'm band too!

But yeah that sucks goosh. To this day I consider myself lucky. I bought it at TRU, and they did not offer me an extended warranty, and I have to say that I'm still scared when it happens. But somehow, it always recovers. I hope that it'll last me a while.

God I hope MS gets their act together one day - 360 problems are pathetic. My GF's cousin went through 4 of them, then it broke. He sold his 5th 360, and all of its games and accessories in favour of a ps3. I don't think I would've lasted that long.
