Default X-box troubles! OH NO!

hmm, this has never happened before...basically, on my NORMAL xbox, and not a 360, it worked normally, now i think i have to buy a new one...
ok, so what is happening is that when i press the On or eject button, nothing happens, all the eject button does is flash it's green color...but doesn't open.
the screen doesn't even come on, as if the hard drive just went to hell in a hand basket...is it the cords? Hard Drive? i haven't even opened it... so yeah...i dunno what the problem is

now lemmie describe what happens so you understand...
Turn on xbox...nothing
hit eject button...eject button flashes green and is SUPPOSE to open
The xbox doesn't turn on with the eariler two attempts

and note, this is a NORMAL xbox, i don't have the money for a 360 or new x-box, could it be the cords?

You're getting power so it isn't something fried. I shouldn't imagine the tray not opening being connected to the machine not booting up at all inless something had fried but then note my former comment.

I'll have a think and let you know if I come up with any ideas. It may be an idea to email Microsoft and ask for their advice.
