Available to download and play between May 16 and June 7 (when the beta stops). Apparently there's going to be a bunch of new vehicles and weapons to try out, as well as three maps to play on.

So who's going to download it? Unfortunately I don't have a copy of Crackdown, but it would tempt me to buy one if I could still find it with the Beta disc.

I was tempted to cough up for crackdown and changed my mind. Used the money for resistance instead. I'll be interested to hear the members thoughts when they get their hands on it.

I've seen plenty of beta test copies in Sheffield Goten.

Yeah, I'd imagine theres still a few left round her too, but I'll be honest and say I haven't looked just incase I ended up buying it on an impulse. I'm not even a huge fan of Halo 3, but the Crackdown demo was pretty good and it's hard to pass up the chance of playing a beta.

I have had a chance to play through this beta and kick some ass, but I really wish I could spend more time with it. The new bubble shields, power drains, and portable grav lifts really add a whole new level of depth to the multiplayer, and I think you're quickly going to see a huge skill gap appear between the more crafty players, even before the beta is over.

I played it and I was never last.

I figured out why pretty quickly - your starting weapons aren't pure shite. You still have a chance when respawning. This is great, IMO, because I was never into halo enough to learn all the weapons locations, and I found myself outgunned too many times.

I hope they keep it this way in the final.
