I didn't mind the look of Forza from what I've seen of it, but I've only got a PS3 so it will be GT for me. Speaking of racing games though, anyone know how NFS: Shift turned out? I've been kind of staying away from the NFS franchise since most games since Most Wanted sucked, So I'm wondering if they finally got it right again..

There are a couple of people on the forum with Shift who seem pleased with it. The wider opinion seems to be that it's actually a pretty good game for a Need For Shift title, but you have to do a bit of tweaking to the settings to get it set up right and there are a few big bugs that need patching (the 360 version includes placeholders for the PlayStation Store, for example).

I actually can't wait for this game, the demo was fantastic and I can't wait to race online with friends. The game looks leagues better than F2 and it should be much easier to get good looking custom liveries (thanks to the new store fronts).

I have the game and have spent a good amount of hours on it. I consider it a great game and would classify it a very good blend of arcade and sim. It has a lot of elements that make the game very fun and addicting. One does need to tweak the settings to go more sim but I consider it a great one in the Need for Speed series. I hope they go on to develop this portion of the "franchise" more. I pre-ordered the game through EA at less than 50% of the MSRP so that does play a huge factor for me. Pricing really influences the fun factor for me and you can find this game for 39.99 at Best Buy.

@Shoota, I couldn't agree more that Forza 3 does look leagues better than F2 and I really hope that it is better. The interest is there and I will be on the lookout for a good discount on this. Fortunately, I do not have to get this on release day as there are so many other games that have been coming out recently. I think I'll end up getting 10 more games, at least, before October is over and that's including PSN games. Damn games.

Yeah, SHIFT is good intense fun. It's definitely a sim/arcade blend but I think they do it really well. It's not often that my palms sweat when playing games anymore, but they did when playing the demo.

Livedoor (a Japanese blog) has some comparisons of Forzas 2 and 3, getting the same cars onto the same tracks, in roughly the same positions. There are some images there that are maybe borderline NSFW there (post links with scantily clad women, but no nudity).

The review embargo is up this Thursday, which is when the press will either vindicate Dan Greenwalt or make him look foolish. The reaction to the demo has been positive, at least.

One truck and a few SUVs. It isn't like the Silverado SS, Ford Lightning or Raptor really compete on the same level as the Ram SRT-10. Maybe they'll add them as DLC.
