Default God of War: Chains of Olympus preview...

...is coming soon. Enjoy.

This game looks to be the kind of killer app the PSP needs to gain more ground in the handheld war.

If you have any questions about the preview, let me know. Info is still scarce, but I'll do my best to answer your questions.

I signed up for that UMD demo quite a while ago, still nothing.

I'm sure I've mentioned it, and I'm still waiting for my R&C demo disc.

Sony..

Since my roomate has a PSP that he could not care less about, I essentially have my own PSP. I'll probably be doing a lot more PSP reviews and coverage here in the future, you lucky dogs. Just have to finish up my review of Odin Sphere first, which I didn't get to this weekend because even PSXE staff gets to enjoy federal holidays

yey... now you will be able to get MGS Ops. lol, better late than never! top game imo.

my mate is banging on about Odin now for weeks and weeks, he's a real old skool RPG of a bloke, i think he wil love it. though he is just getting to grips with Disagae2 after many stupid hours on the first, so probably wont get round to playing it for a year or so.

Ahhhhh I FINALLY got my demo

Ok sooo it comes in this neat little God of War-looking package, and it comes with a cool little PSP charm (but I put it on my phone haha)

On to the game though!

The demo is only one level (or most of one level), "The Battle of Atticus" in which you get a taste of what the game will deliver. I have to say, it looks pretty flippin' impressive!! It has the gore and devastation you want (and at this point EXPECT) from God of War, and then some. The controls work extremely well on the portable system, and yes, graphically, this game is one of the most superior games seen on the system to date. I'd have to say it might be as good (if not better) than
the first God of War game on the PS2.

The attacks are similar to the previous games, so anyone who has played GoW before will likely be able to pick this up and start a killing spree in no time at all, and newcomers don't worry, the controls are simple enough, yet flow together easily enough that you'll be laying down some serious combos and ownage in minutes. The minigames are as gruesome as ever, the bosses are fun, and new magic attacks make this game one any God of War fan should play, but those of you who have never played the game and own a Playstation Portable (assuming you are of age ).

I definitely recommend this game to you when it becomes available. God of War: Chains of Olympus is slated for a March 2008 release.
