NOTE:: There are spoilers for those who haven't played Dirge of Cerberus, but trust me you don't want to anyway.



Anyone who even so much as glanced at Dirge of Cerberus would have instantly known how poor this game was. The game play was OK, at best, and the story was mind numbingly poor (please note that I'm a huge FFVII fan boy and it takes a lot for me to say something like that). To summarise for those who want to know, the game focuses on Vincent fighting some Shinra soldiers who were found underneath Midgar and had gotten messed up by Hojo's experiments. All well and good so far, but it turns out Hojo is still alive because he "digitized" his mind (or something) into the main bosses' body. They also introduce a new WEAPON into the game that the planet designed to destroy the planet *yawn*.

Anyway, the game introduces a mysterious man named simply "G" who is seen on the secret ending of the game. This character looks like he's set to be the main boss of Crisis Core, a man named Genesis who was a fellow SOLDIER with Zack and Sephiroth, as well as another new character called Angeal. These two characters, by the sounds of things floating on the net, were genetically modified by a scientist who got sacked (or something) by Shinra and is looking for revenge on them. The thing I hate about this is they are both first class SOLDIERs with one wing on their back (sound familiar?), also Genesis has a long katana resembling Sephiroth's and Angeal wields Buster Sword (also sound familiar?).

What worries me is two things really, firstly is that the story will be crappy and cheesy like DoC and secondly, with all these references and parralells between Cloud and Sephiroth, they are going to be removing their uniqueness and some what hindering the original FFVII storyline. What do you all think? Apart from that Crisis Core looks amazing visually and the DMW battle system looks very intriguing, I just fear that if the storyline is really shocking, it's gunna put me off big time.

Long have I waited to learn about the other SOLDIERs, Turks
and Shinra employees we never got to see in the original. You've let me down once already Square, don't let me down again
