a lot of my psp gaming is done on the loo

so... recently been playing Syphon Filter Logans Shadow.. just completed it, and what a game!!! seriously, just amazing. and whats better than the main game? an online mode that

just quality from start to finish, the difficulty level in SF: LS is fantasically done, gets you in there and used to things.. i never really felt like it was too hard. you have to repeat a few missions etc.. but fun all the way.

plus you get a preview game mode called Combat Op's... basically its almost like an 'offline ad-hoc only Beta trial' that they have given you in the game. from what i can gather its like the online mode of SF, but a full game of it (when its released later in the year). meaning you can tweak ever detail of the online mission/deathmatch! and i have to admit that when it comes out, im tempted to buy it, its rather good!

so imo Logans shadow is a must buy game if there ever was one.

will go in to more detail if you want me too, but thats it really.

the other game ive played is StarWars RS... wow, what a departure from Battlefront2!!!!

i dont know where to start apart from saying that its not really a sequal, in fact if youre looking for Battlefront3, forget it.

im not that far in to the game really, but so far the game is good, but i find it annoying that third person is the only view you can choose, and the controls are ..well, a bit rubbish as there are only two settings you can choose from (luckly one of the settings ive got on with).
missions are split up like in BF2, but no Galactic quest for the early years.

the main storyline involves Han Solo and him recruiting bounty hunted guys to take on the Empire yadda yadda. in battle you can still get to choose a jedi or Han solo in space, and yes they have again messed with the way you handle said special characters, but not too bad. the biggest change is a 'heavy' auto targeting system. love it or hate it.. its there.

now after all this you have to ask yourself.. is it even worth buying? yes, i think it is and i say this because the online is brilliant, personally i love it, its almost like a wee mini warhawk.
This is why (imo) the graphics arnt as good as BF2, in order to make online as smooth as possible, and so far ive noticed only solid online play.

space battles are cool and so is on planet romping about.. but its not for everyone. if you like StarWars and want an online warhawk type game where 16 players can fly about in space shooting each other and on land running about on TDM, DM CTF etc, its cool.. but probably rent before you buy.

...and will probably run better on a new slim PSP too

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions & loving every minute of it. This is the 7th time over i'm playing the game and it just gets better and better. Especially with the new CG's this game feels kind like a new game, though the story is the same.

It is the greatest game of all time, and Ben knows it.

not essentially a full game per se, but my much-anticipated GOW: Chains of Olympus demo finally arrived in the mail last week - nearly a month after they first announced its shipping, no less - and hey, its pretty fun...its impressive at how similar it plays to its PS2 counterparts so well, everything from the combos to the "epic" production the series is known for is well-intact

definitely will be waiting for the full game

so.. would you say that its like a fully fledge PS2 game on the psp? because there really are only a handful of these titles about.

games like Syphon Filter, MGS: PO and GTA are as big or as well made as their PS2 brothers. I got the feeling that GOW: CoO is the same, certainly by looking at the screens and vids.. the game moves so fluidly, and just looks amazing. i cant wait for this personally, its a shame that you guys in the States get all these free demo UMD's and we dont over here

PS..

New Firm Ware out NOW!!!

go download.. its brilliant, wow.. yeh.. it does..erm, err... well, nothing much. but im sure we need it

on a positive note (lol).. i have been playing Worms2 on the old psp.. its good!!! love playing online, im rubbish, but i love it!

oh yea, definitely...i expect nothing less than a solid action experience out of Chains of Olympus. the atmosphere and gameplay are instantly familiar to the PS2 games, and though i doubt Ready at Dawn will introduce any innovative features to break from the tried and true blood-spurting formula, that's not necessarily a bad thing at all.

Yeah, Logan's Shadow rocks. I reviewed it and gave it a perfect.

Anyway, I got two games:
Castlevania: DXC
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

cool, you write for a site or something personal? its a pretty amazing game, its a shame all PSP games arent as polished, but then if they were.. we may not of seen the glory that is Logans shadow!

so have you played Disgaea before? if so.. how does it compare? like an old comfy shoe.. or a stiff unfriendly boot? personally, i think i will be picking it up for sure when it hits the UK, but no idea when that will be...

got Silent Hill coming, prob get that Monday, really looking forward to it! im a massive fan, hell..i even liked The Room!!

Edit: pleased to report that Silent Hill for the psp is as good as the PS2 versions. good pair of headphones, a quite room... and yes, i admit that i have almost shat myself on a few occasions.

its doubtful that many played any Silent hill game in such an amazing audio sensation as that of the psp version. just incredible... you hear everything.. and i mean everythng!

Graphic wise this game is on par with PS2 (say SH2) and above par with many PSP games. for the sound, like i say its incredible.
The gameplay is right up ther.. tho a shame not to be able to tweak the camera 360 up/down, but just getting used to the 'camera of old'.. it still works fine so far.
story line.. again, its keeping with the scipt well. maybe a lil more with the film than the rest of the series, but then thats not a terrible thing.

bottom line, if youre a SH fan with a psp, you must get this game. if your a horror fan with a psp.. you really shoud get this game.

if you dont like any of the above.. get Syphon Filter: Logans shadow, its really good!

anyway, i gotta get back to it.

Sorry, I had computer trouble so I'm just now getting to this. Anyway, I worked on a handheld gaming site for a short time, but not anymore (I covered Logan's Shadow). Yeah, I heard SH Origins is great. I want the game myself too.
