PSP's year is 2007? at GDC.. they reckon so!

"In tonight's blogger meeting, I had a chance to talk to Sony president Phil Harrison about his keynote and the suspicious absence of the PSP device: "We didn't talk about the PSP because [the keynote] was 45 minutes," he tried to explain.

John Koeller, the man responsible for the marketing of the PSP, then joined in: "We're absolutely not overlooking the PSP." He hinted that the future of the PSP looks very similar to what has been planned for the PS3. "We could start talking about PSP in the same manner as Phil."

Sony recognizes the potential of the system, and promises that in May, they will be revealing some more exciting news. "The promise is there ... [yet] we're well aware of the market realities." What specifically the PSP will be evolving into is still unclear, but it appears as though downloadable media and PS3-style Network features are in the works. From the smiles on their faces, it's clear that some truly exciting things will be happening to the PSP this year."



so, sounds blooming promising eh!! from the shots ive seen here at PSXE of the psp being used in some way with 'HOME'.. theres no doubt that the psp will be used like no one had ever thought.

also being used with the ps3 as an actual piece of equipment rather than a sticky outy thing is great too...

i cant wait to get my PS3 and PSP married.... lol. i feel that 2007 is going to be one big big year for theose two!

I just ordered Ridge Racer 2 (Asia version), for $16.90 at Play-Asia. I'm a big Ridge Racer fan and always really wanted to buy this. Although I hear it only has 10 different courses (compared to Ridge Racer), for $20, that's not a bad deal. This will be the first game I imported.

that will be very interesting! because Play-Asia wont ship psp games to the uk. they were one of the first big imorters/exporters to comply with sonys ..erm request to stop the grey importing.

got RR1, that was really good. i trust u played that demo to death of RR2?

Yeah, I played the demo to RR2 to a lot. The only thing kept me from playing it was lacking the music, which the full version has. It shipped two days ago, so I'll be waiting for it to arrive.

erm.. is it true that Burnout Dominator does NOT have Crash mode?

what the hell is going on?

bu..but its their roots!

the whole POINT of Burnout form when it was titled "shiny red car" to Burnout on the PS1, to Revenge and the glorious PSP homage ...Crash mode is in my eyes essential!! the game from what i remember was originally to showcase car explosion physics... but the demo/game was so good, they made a proper full game and released it as Burnout, thus the rest is history.
