Well it does have a HDD and runs Linux, but I don't know if we'll be able to run any applications.

For those who don't keep up to date with PSPUpdates:

"You guys really got into discussing the PSP-PS3 downloading issue when we first talked about it. It's a good thing that news changes over time, or we'd all probably be depressed by the apparent need to get a PS3 to download and play PS1 games on the PSP.

According to Game Daily Biz, earlier reports of the PS3 being required to get PS1 games were premature, as they were able to ask Peter Dille, SCEA's Senior VP for Marketing, for more information. It appears that you don't really need a PS3 to be able to download PS1 games because the PSP emulation plan, as well as the PSP downloads site for PS1 games, will still push through.

Let's take it straight from Peter Dille:

'We have the PSP downloads site now, and you're right; these PS1 games will be available either from the PSP downloads site directly, so you don't need a PS3 to get them or if you do happen to be one of the lucky guys that gets a PS3, you can download the games to your PS3 hard drive and then slide it over to your PSP. Both services will be up and running.'"

Not a problem, glad I could help. We've been doing pretty good, just keeping up with school and (in my case) work.

Staying on topic, I also think it's great that we'll be able to play the downloaded PS1 games on the PS3. I don't see why they wouldn't do that, but it is a great feature nonetheless.

well... if you pay for it and you download it via the ps3... i dont see any reason why you couldnt do that. with it probably being stored on the ps3's hdd, means you can swap games over when you are a bit bored.

we do that at the mo with the demos with the PC... so it should be easier in theory with the Ps3.

you CAN go through Yourpsp.com, but even tho i did and also tried to get the halloween demo of Loco!!!! erm.. the bleeding thing apparently downloaded to my psp, took the memory but didnt give me the games! (do you know what i mean?).. biatch!

so i went to pspupdates and downloaded them myself! very cool so far.

havent got the Loco one yet as its in RAR. on pspupdates. they also have Bounty Hounds demo and some other racer thats a whopping 39meg! but again theyre in RAR. and i dont have that untility, oh why oh why doesnt everyone use Zip!

You can download a free version of WINRAR, Windows usualy asks if you want to search for such softwear when it comes across RAR files, it works fine for me.
