I had/ have a launch Japan 1000 series psp.. and its still going!
I would even go as far to say its more reliable than a ps3... mainly due to the fact there is less moving parts (if you like) in a psp. its very sturdy and reliable. what you going to go for, as in what model? |

I have the game and it is totally worth it if you Advent Children style fighting. So far I've put in over 20 hours in the story mode. You can even replay fight scenes, edit them, take screen shots, and export both videos and screen shots to the XMB.

Well, It has a lengthy story mode. I just beat it, And I have to say that this game give you quite some bang for your buck. They really jam packed it with stuff to do and unlock. Right now I'm going for 100% completion. I estimate me playing this 200+ hours easily. I would suggest getting a PSP 3000, It can do what ever the GO can and can play UMD games, plus its cheaper. Plus there is no guarantee that all PSP game outside of Sony developed ones will be put up on the PSN. Its up to the other developers to decide if they want to pay the bandwidth fees. Unless Sony decides to wave them for PSP games.

Dissidia update: Right now I'm in over 45 hours of play time.
When it comes to third party games coming to the PSN I think devs and publishers are going to wait for the go and to see if the system sells well and if people are willing to go with a download ver. If devs and pub. were are as smart as I hope they are they would at least consider trying some releases as digital/physical releases. Hopefuly Sony could work with third parties and lower fees a bit, for say, major titles.

Dissidia is definitely a worthwhile purchase. I can't go as far as saying it is worth buying a PSP for... but it is surely up there. A local paper in this area even went as far as to label it as 'one of the best fighting titles of 2009' up there with Soulcaliber and, yes, Fight Night. I can't disagree there. It takes advantage of the PSP in just about every facet except for graphics. My ONLY nitpick there is the fact that CG cutscenese are severely lacking and, as demonstrated perfectly in Crisis Core, the PSP is capable of presenting some jaw-dropping CG graphics. Otherwise, this game is very well worth buying without hesitation.
