Default I want to dl PS2 games:(

With Microsoft soon to start releasing xbox games form LIVE download, how long will it be before we can soon dl PS2 games on PSN? As long as they get the catalogue on there quicker than with the PS1 this could be a great concept to sell systems on as the lack of bc in the new machines will be putting of prospective buyers.

Apparently there has been talk of such a feature, long before Microsoft announced the Xbox version. I suppose it depends on how much effort it would take to optimise them without the backwards compatibility.

yeh, it would be interesting.... personally i would like to see timeless games there.

i think most are forgiving with PS1 games because lets face it, most of us who download the games gave a PSP, so we can play Spyro and Medievil on it (both great on the psp too).. but with the PS2 games, 90% sure wont be psp compatible, so will have to fit in to the genre of PS3 games..

what games do you guys think would fit?

im thinking stuff like Disgaea or even FFX would work. i dont think shooters and beat em ups, unless theyre games like Street fighter could ever work.

Personally the thing that has interested me with the Xbox version is Psychonauts. I managed to miss it during my WoW days and was considering looking for the Xbox version cheap, but to see it being specifically mentioned as a game for this service means I'll probably opt for that instead. I only have two 20GB hard drives for the 360 though so I don't see myself downloading many Xbox titles, but I may well purchase a few choice titles.

For a PS2 version I'd probably look for games that I personally enjoyed but which didn't seem to make much of an impact. Beyond Good and Evil maybe, or Mark of Kri. I wouldn't be particularly interested in a service that only opted for the multi-million sellers that most people with a PS2 already have and have already played through at least once.

I haven't even thought of buying any new games (I don't even know what games have been released since I picked up my PS3) and I do barely play my current PS2 catalogue but that is mainly because some are unplayable on my PS3. If I could dl them and they run perfectly then I'd be interested again. I want to give my PS2 to my parents but at the moment I can't because I need it should I wish to play Fire Warrior or the FF games.
