Can anyone tell me how long it takes to do a update? I am in my 2nd hour or more and its still going. I dont want to shut it off as it says that will cause hard drive problems?

Ouch, it shouldn't take that long. Depending on the update and your connection, but on my wifi it takes about 5 minutes to download and install.

Is it installing it already or just downloading the update?

I saw it download the update as I saw the percent bar go to 100%, but its been over 3 hours since and its still installing it I guess. I will let it go over night and will see in the morning.

Did you have a lot of data on the system or did you just buy it?

Just bought it less than a week ago. Its been over 10 hours and still cant turn it off which it says its working? I am on Dish internet and even though its not dsl, its not like dial-up.

If it doesnt start working later in the morning, I guess I will have to call Sony?

start it again1 mine only takes at the most 30-40 mins.. if that.

so i would start it again, if its the same then call Sony and/ or your internet provider and see what speed youre running at.

erm, still do what i said tho,

are you downloading via wireless or cable? and do you know where you can get the FW Update online rather than downloading it straight to the psp?

if not, post and i'll did out a site for you.

but a download for new firmware should only take ten mins really.. not much more than that!

Up date on my problem. Sorry if I posted the above wrong as being a old retired steelworker my fingers sometimes type faster than brain.

I called Sony or playstation and they said to reboot the system which I did while they stayed on the phone and it up dated in less than 2 mins.

My main problem was trying to play a ps2 game in my ps3 80 system. It being the NHRA drag racing game and it wont play.

So thanks for reading my posts and for now I am updated to 2.01 and it works with Motor Storm as it did, but will have to buy new games.
