yes, i hve been playing OB all day, and its certainly superb!!! im playing in order, so have dabled with ep1&2 but nothing in the way of seeing any slowdown or anything. quite a way in to HL2, and the only tiny bit of framerate probs was the water bit, but its just a bit slow at loading, and no keyboard and mouse action.. they are my only gripes! lol...
all in all, its an incredible set of games, Portal is everything everyone said it was... TF2 was fun too. ive played all the FPS's on the PS3, and this, Cod and RFOM are imo the only FPS's worth spending a deal of time on.
if i had to rate OB, it would be say 88/100 i wouldnt like to give it a nine, because i havent got 'that' far in to it. but my initial feelings are that it is possibly one of the best FPS's ive played.

plus.. im actually surprised it looks good too, i was half expecting rubbish dated graphics, but very impressed.

The Benny (Macho)

The Source engine is very robust and on PC it scales very well, so even on hardware that didn't exist at its release it should be able to look quite nice. I believe the console versions are both fixed at 720p and 30 frames per second, with the PS3 version looking a little better because it has anti-aliasing that the 360 version doesn't, even with its apparent over-zealous blurring.

Let us know how you get on with Episode 2 when you get there, because that's supposed to be the biggest offender. Of course, that's probably on PS3's without all your sneaky optimisations.
