If this new job pans out, I'm looking at late November/December on getting a PS3. Main reason is I need a HDTV b4 I get it so I can have my 360 and future PS3 in yummy HD.

Heavenly Sword is also a must buy PS3 for myself (of course other titles, but this is the one lol) so once it's out 100% I'm set. That game is insane!

Seems Europe and Australia aren't getting the price cut; Only the higher value package.

gah... just when my hopes went up of being able to one day afford the console, Sony comes in and shoots it down. and to be honest, i really don't see any need for the 80gig model, 60 seemed fine enough to launch it after all...

I heard that they may do an "actual" price drop by the end of the year. Here's hoping as I have decided I should buy one next year.

Will the new PS3 have new features or something? (other than the 80GB HDD I mean)
Because the way I see it, switching from a 60GB to an 80GB HDD + Removing the PS2 chip doesn't cost an extra $100. So shouldn't it have something new?
