I'll be more than a little displeased if this happens. I expected to have best potential console for at least 3-4 years before the next one came out.

i was going to get the ps3 but i think ill just put back the mony i had saved for the ps3 and maby just maby bay 2k10 ill have anuf mony for it i wonder how much it will cost 1000 2000 i omost had the mony for a ps3 and i was going to get it becous it was the newist sistem and by time i get it every body eals well have the ps4 and well be makeing fun of me

This is the same shit that happened when PS2 came out. PS2 came out in mid 2000 and i remember reading articles saying PS3 will be out by 2004 or 2005 and it took till late 2006 to be released.

Sony is done if they do that huge just like Arnold said. It has to be atleast until 2012 until they release it. Maybe they won't and it will be a "Digital" download for new games. I'm not sure if they would want the PS3 to handle that or just do a new console and let it take it from there.

IF something like this comes out, its not going to be a "PS4". They are probably just planning a PS3-based entertainment system. Think expensive PS3 with a bunch of non-game related bells and whistles.

i totaly agree, the actual PS4 wont come out this side of 2011, as V said.. if it does come out, it will be jinging and whistling as it shuffles onto the shops shelves.

i dont care, but i know i will be VERY VERY unhappy with Sony if they release a 'better' PS3 in the next three years! ...mind you, i have a three year warranty, so if they do make a better PS3 within the next three years, my old ps3 will have a little accident. ahem.

I'm pretty sure Val's right about this. They're calling it the "PS4," but a console with the same chipset and expanded media features isn't much more than the theory behind the 360 Elite. It might not even be that. At the very least, even if something like this does happen, it won't affect game developers. A chipset is a chipset.

A cheaper version of the PS3 may be out by then like the slim-line ps2, and like the slim-line ps2 there will probably be a couple of extras
