Everytime we turn on my fiance's Playstation 2 it just goes to the memory card. We can't get any of the games to go to their start screen. We have tried resetting/restarting and have even unplugged. We have also taken out the memory card, but none of that works. Any suggestions?

This is not a problem I have heard of before but it sounds like a serious hardware error. Does it register at all when you insert a disc? It might very well be the reader which it's possible your local PC repair shop might be able to replace.

yeh, that sounds very serious!

you might try old wives tricks (lol).. what i mean by that is turning it on while its upside down, or standing it up on its end... etc etc

personally, it sounds to me as Gabe said, something for a pro should look at.


btw.. is it a new ps2 (as in small and flat) or an old one with the sliding disk tray?
