I saw Where the Wild Things Are last week. It was an unbelievably dark kids movie, that probably isn't work kids. It's tonally confusing, it's message is completely unclear, it lacks any sort of real resolution. And somehow those things come together to form something strange and briliant. Someone looking for your average Disney-esque kids movie will be severely disappointed. And I'm sure that this will go down as one of the most divisive movies of the last few years. But at some point down the line I have little doubt that it will come to be known as a classic.

I read somewhere that Where the Wild Things Are isnt so much a kids movie as it is a metaphor for childhood. But its one I really want to see Spike Jonze makes some cool surreal pictures.

The Men Who Stare at Goats might get me to the theaters this weekend. I like that the previews dont say or show too much to give away story or the funnier parts of the movie.

Isn't that what the book was about? It's been years since I've read it but I could have sworn it was a metaphor.

You know it probably was. I know its one of those that parents loved to read to their kids and probably for that reason.

Well, it's been cheesy family entertainment over here. My son wanted to see G.I. Joe so I got that off of Amazon for $15 (BD). I took it for what it was; action packed and nothing more. The wife and I went to see Couples Resort and that was funny. My son wants to see the rest of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen so we'll see if he doesn't fall asleep again. He's young, they get tired while watching the screen and Megan isn't nude so I can't blame him. Hahaha.
