Default UK Football

I don't think I ever recall a Football thread on here.
Was just wondering who you support and do you ever go see your team play?

I support Man Utd lol
Great win the weekend!
Might be going to see them versus Barcelona in the Champions League aswel!

I'm a Wrexham fan and a Villa fan- Wrexham as it's my local team and Villa because my dad is from brum and my family from that side all support the Villa. I go to as many Wrexham games as I possibly can (even this season lol) and I was a season ticket holder last season but couldn't this year due to being in uni. I try to go see Aston Villa as often as possible but I probably wont get to a game this season (again because of being in uni/lack of money) but I went to a couple last season.

Thats pretty tidy, you going to Nou Camp or just to Old Trafford? I remember going to an England game (I support England and Wales in internationals having an English dad ) there when I was about 8, it's huge!

slim? There is a slim chance we might be hit by an asteroid half the size of the moon.

There is a slim chance I may win the lottery jackpot. Twice.

Slim isn't the word I would use for our playoff chances. But thanks for the positive vibes anyway

I am Spurs supporter, Tottenham. It's been bit up and down this season. Kinda fell back to like it was 4-5 years ago.

You've still won a cup, I'd probably trade that for our position (Villa now not Wrexham, but then again it'd definitely be Wrexham if you asked which I'd prefer ).

I have a feeling Barca might pull something out of the bag and tonk you! Don't particularly want it to happen (want all British teams to do well in Europe) but I predicted the same with Milan last year when everyone was saying it'd most likely be an all English final. Then again you are playing better than you were last year

Don't be ashamed of being a Blades fan Gabe... least you won't be in the conference next year!

I like Hotspurs, West Ham and Man City. But then again I like all the teams in the Premier League. I cant really tell you want my favorite team is. I enjoy watching football of high caliber such as the Premier League. Seria A is garbage, and sorry to anyone that likes it, but they foul every 2 freaking minutes, whereas in the Premier League the flow of the game is unbelievable. So what can I tell you, its hard for me to decide on a favorite team because all of them play so well and there are always supporters at the games, even at lowly Derby games.

btw what does it mean when a club goes into administration? is it when they go bankrupt or something. a while ago i was watching setanta sports and they were talking about Gretna FC going into administration and I couldnt figure out what that meant.

Goten,

I like to see Villa do well.
I think Martin O' Neil is a great, great manager and in 2-3 years I think you will be challenging for that 4th Champions League spot.
He needs to make sure Liverpool don't get Barry though.
Hes been brilliant for you this season.

As for United and Barcelona.
Yeh, we are playing ALOT better now than last season and with a much stronger depth in the squad he's been able to rest Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez recently so I honestly think we will beat them.
Theres no stopping Ronaldo at the minute!
Just hope Messi doesn't recover from his injury! (unless he already has?)

It generally means the club in administration owes money it doesn't have to people they have borrowed it off or haven't paid back when they were due to, e.g. if a club has loaned x amount of money from a company but spends all that money on players and isn't making enough profit to pay them back they can go into administration. It's more complex than that, but the whole thing is a very big process involving a lot of accountants and lawyers lol.

Having gone through an administration period with Wrexham (which I might add was due to the dodgy dealings of our then chairman who wanted to sell our ground for property development), I can tell you it's not very nice at all, the league can deduct you points or kick you out (depending on which league/country you are in) and when the club is in such an awful financial position there is always the threat of the club possibly shutting down; and even if they don't a ten points deduction could easily see your team relegated.

*ahem* anyway back to Villa, I don't O'Neill would let Barry go to be honest, well at least I'm hoping not! I think Barry enjoys being captain and loves the club too much to just leave when we are improving by the season and the fee that Liverpool are apparently willing to offer is a f***ing joke, scuse my french.

As for Mr. O'Neill, he is doing wonders at Villa Park, just wish he would buy us a bloody right back!

Don't think Messi is fit, but don't hold me to that as he's been out awhile and is probably due to come back at some point before the season ends. Let's just hope you can get a few away goals at Nou Camp and you will be laughing!
