UK- Woolworths Blu-Ray Only

The major UK retailer Woolworths will now only be stocking BR media and ditching their current supply of HD-DVDs. It will still be possible to purchase HDs from the online store.

Over Christmas, BR outsold HD by 10 to 1 and this is the reason for this decision.

Woolworths wield a lot of clout by having 820 stores nationally and I wonder how long it will be before other major retailers follow.

Not a suprise to me at all.
Been following this HD war on other sites and Blu-Ray has been dominating for some time.

Woolworths?!

Haven't seen one of those around here in MANY years. That's the store I bought my first NES from (over 20 years ago, now - wow). Saved up my own money, too

Walmart own Woolworths so that could be why you haven't seen the name in the States recently.
