I've just spotted in an article about people hacking the iphone that the american phone is a whopping £80 cheaper than the US phone. How can they justify that sort of gap?
The fact they've teamed up with O2 could hurt Apple. Many will wait until the networks are open.

So was I. DOH!
I meant the American phone is £80 cheaper than the UK phone. I should have proof-read first.

i dont know how they can justify it either, but like a lot of things.. check out the USA PSN for say the Motorstorm cars.. like 99 cents or something, yet we have to pay a couple of quid... nothing is true of the exchange rate.
i do like the look of the Iphone, and although i did slag it off, the gadget man inside me WANTS ONE.. but its a crap everything apart from looking good... i want one! ![]() i know that my N95 is a far far far better phone than the Iphone will ever be, but that doesnt stop me from looking at it and thinking i might get the next one in the series ![]()

Gadget show recently compared it to an equivalent Nokia phone and found exactly what you've just said. It is very mediocre.

It's a bizarre attitude of lots of companies. Adobe, Apple, Microsoft and Sony all seem to sometimes operate with the system of 1$ = £1 when the reality has the pound around double the dollar, meaning products are twice as expensive over here. There's no real excuse for it, especially when products are digitally delivered (such as Photoshop).

It also could be the fact when the iPhone came out here it was redonk expensive, and they dropped the price $200 and refunded some of that to early adopters. I'm not sure if the UK is getting that same idea of a high introductory price.

Possible. I'd forgotten about the US price issue for the early adopters.
