UK house prices 5x salaries
It appears from this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7029135.stm that the average house price is 5 times the average salary of a first time buyer.
My main reason for posting this here is to find out how this compares to other housing markets around the world. I read in another story this morning that house prices started to fall this last month

It varies by state (and by region within the state, at least in Montana). In my city, the median home price is about 4-6 times. New construction is around twice that (about 8 times the annual salary).
