Although I think the cop overreacted I know I'd think it suspicious if a car pulled into an empty parking lot and sat there. If a cop came up to me and asked what I'm doing I'd calmly explain. No big deal.

If I refused to say what I was doing then I'd expect the cop to become even more suspicious.

What is that annoying clicking?

Don't know what the annoying clicking is.

But remember the cop accused the driver of not signaling while turning. While the video clearly proves that he turned on his signal when turning.

Yeah, I spotted that. Did he use a turn signal to show he was pulling into that particular parking space? Over here that's a legal requirement too but I don't know about in the US.

Over here if the car is changing direction you must use a turn signal even if you don't think anyone else is around. The only time you don't is if you pull up to or away from a curb and there is clearly no other traffic for you to notify.

Yes he showed the turning signal everytime he turned or changed directions.

Our cops are too cautious and scared to even question the guy. They'd leave especially if they thought he was suspicious.

This event is somewhat local; it's a town that's a nice little drive out of the St. Louis limits. The guy detained got in trouble with the cops not too long ago. He was harassed by a drunk off-duty cop in St. Louis city. The cop got off, and the city paid the kid not to sue. Obviously, the guy's not going to take this twiddling his thumbs "oh hum, this sort of thing happens. No biggy." Now I do think that the guy who got pulled over is not at fault even though it does look like he baited the cop. The cop must mess with people often, because his own car's dashboard camera wasn't running. Saint George is well known for being a small speed trap town. I wouldn't say the entire town's police force acts that way, but the idiot policeman involved spoke volumes.
