This is a great site that lets you test your connection speed. An admin on the resistance forums suggested using it to see if you'll have a problem playing online.
My work connection is sucky:  Will post my home connection later. Last nigh it was about 2044 download, 245 upload. Can't recall the latency but I think it was about 45. They have confirmed that if your connection is too slow you will be banned from the PS3 network.

This is the best speed site I know of. Have been using it for a while now. It seems pretty reliable as well...

This is my work broadband connection.
 I will get my one from home at some point. It is not much better though LOL too far from the exchange

wow, I used the London connection (claims 150 miles) and it gave me those sort of stats. I guess because I'm on cable mines typically better than through ADSL.
Maybe some of the other techy guys on here could say if this is acceptable for online gaming or if we're causing major lag and don't realise it? According to their stats, the US is typically looking at 4000+ !
