Regarding your naughty pirating post. (tut tut).

I buy plenty of music legally online which I then burn to cd's to keep a hard copy thus freeing up HD space and allowing me to listen to it in other rooms/the car etc. I can copy from the cd to my 360 so I should imagine the same can be done for the PS3.

None of us here condone illegally obtaining music but I feel this answers you concerns appropriately. I just think your wording was off.

He meant playing ripped PS2 games in the PS3. I'm in your boat though Gab. I buy CDs only then rip them to my comp and ipod so I don't have to use the CD.

when the PS1 was out, i pretty much had a peg leg, a parrot and a huge whopping great beard! i was insane! geeze, i mean if it moved i ripped it!

I blame my youth... well, I blame the Speccy and tapes!! lol

but ever since the PS2 came out i just havent been interested, yes i looked for mod chips, and neo keys when it first came out, but i just lost interest in a big big way. and im glad i did.

and now its all started again with the psp. a friend of mine rips off new games through the net to his downgraded psp, doesnt pay a penny for them! lol.. but of course Sony and other people are getting wiser, and now you just cant play the best of the new games at all.. and on top of it all, its easy to brick...

so i do thjink that modding a console and playing copied games is a mugs game completly, same with music and anything else.

now the only thing im in favour is to play other region's games on a console, thats the only reason I would get it modded.

If its a CD that deserves the purchase I buy. If not, I wouldn't want to listen to it anyways. So basically I'm saying I purchase, then rip. As a musician, if I were to make it, I would be a little upset with pirating. Just because buying the CD is supporting the band.

Dude, pirating is illegal.As in against the law. As in U could get arrested. Pirating is no more worse than stealing. So my words of wisdom R...STOP!

Anymore I either buy CDs and rip them to my computer or get them from iTunes, but I still have a shitload of music on my computer that I stole and burned onto CDs during Kazaa's heyday. But even back then I used pirated music mostly to test bands I hadn't heard of out and to see if I liked them. If they had enough songs that I enjoyed I usually went out and bought the album.

Cheers cAt. I thought he meant cd's as in music cd's. I use allofmp3 for my music downloads but that is kinda like itunes.

I only really buy the original cd now if I need to have the cover art or if it is REALLY cheap.

I have never taken music or movies that I haven't paid for.

I buy plenty of CDs. I'd rather get the DRM-free CD than a DRMed album on itunes. I'd also rather get the original compression, so if I ever get more capacity on my mp3 player (which I will), I'll be able to rip them at a higher bit rate.

All in all, CDs are more future proof and the better choice.

That's also the main reason I get the cds. Custom bitrate. For ipod I go 192kbps. I would go wav but that would be
