I just wanted to stop by and mention that Ben is doing a great job covering all of the PS3 news and everything else. I wonder when the last time he got some sleep was. Keep it dude, it's good to see you kicking ass. I know everyone around here appreciates it too.


Oh, if you want to see the joy that comes along with reviewing games for GameSpot, feel free to browse some of the love that my latest review has stirred up. To be fair though, there are a number of people that don't think I'm an idiot, which is nice. And of course, this isn't 1/100th of what Jeff heard about Zelda. I can't complain though, the job is great. I just laugh it off now.

Have you ever heard of that guy before? I haven't, and to be quite honest, in my 6 years of gamespotting, it's the first time i'm dissing a reviewer. Not because of the score, it's an opinion. But because he only bashes the game. The graphics are gorgeous, what the hell are you expecting from a free-roaming game, knowing that the textures shown has to appear at light-speed since you can fly so fast and such?
The guy complained about the ''missile'' part of Metallo.He said he used his heat vision on it and that it explodes and he has to start over. And, that he NEVER thought that ''maybe'' , to stop it , in most common sense your character would have to use his hands ? Wow. And he's a game reviewer?
What the hell, what if I show you a gas leak, will you throw fire on it ? Man that guy's review is just a big rant. He has no skills in writting, no skills in developping a thesis or a proper opinion, since it's not even one, it's just free bashing.
I'm sorry, but this game is far from perfection, but also far from deserving a 4.5 under bashing rants. I'm all good with it being an honest review, but when your only goal is to bash a game, and not even find a single quality in it, it's because you're biased.

A 4.5? Honestly? Wheoever reviewed this game must not be a superman fan at all, therefor let me state how awesome this game is IF you are indeed a supes fan. ITS AMAZING! I hope I get some trollers in here talkin smack because i really dont give a rats butt. The flying alone is impressive and makes you feel like you are going faster than in any other game ever made, especially after the 4th sonic boom....wow...YEs i agree it was extremely short i beat it in about 8 and a half hours...but for what it is its great. Awesome graphics, finally superman feels like superman. I give it a 9.2...would be a 10 but the lack of missions does kinda suck.

The review blew me away! I would give the game no less than a 8.0. I diddnt see who wrote the review but I stopped reading it halfway through because they were making s*** up. The controls and camera are very nice especially for a game like this. While targeting you can use the right stick to select between the targets, NOT have to untarget struggle with the camera and try to retarget like the reviewer so claims. I dont even think he likes superman he is so biased and anal.
The graphics are amazing on the 360, whoever says otherwise has no f'king idea what it takes to make a game do what this game does, this game is super smooth transitioning from one side of the city to the other. Just look at all the GTA games, none of them have as high a framerate as superman and none of them have as nice textures here just look at the textures on a lot of the buildings and the water even (found only two low textures in SMR) NONE of the gta games you fly so high the buildings become tiny tiny cubes below you, none of the games you fly through at 800mph!! You can even replace all my "gta's" with 'saints row' and it all still applys. Im very upset at the GS review, not that I ever really listen to them but im sure some people do and this game deserves to be at least rented by every console owner.
The popular thing I say to everyone overhyping a game beyond what it is even supposed to be is: "People expect something more? WHAT? What was promised that they thought they would get and diddnt? I know what I want, I saw it, and i got it." You know a review is bad when they complain about things that arent true. I mean hes complaining about (quote "What would Superman do") as bothering him keeping him from wanting to use the enviroment to smash his enemies HAHAHA what a joke!


And lastly:
ill tell u one thing, i dont trust the review on games or movies cause they never give the good one a good rating. I bought this game and it rocks, the best superman game ever.

That mess used to bug me, but now I just shrug it off. Most of these people only played the demo, if they played the game at all. I have a new favorite thread though:

Who is Aaron Thomas anyway? A 4.5?
God, this guy really doesn't know how to review games. I'm sorry to drop the bomb off on this rookie, but please, do us all a favor and post up some legit reviews!

I think Superman is great by the way. ^_^

Shit, now this one might be my fav:
the fact is gamespot did went way too off on the score.. i mean 4.5? dont be a **** joke....i wonder who was the reviewer... anyway, this game is a 7.5 easily. bottom line, gamespot better get your reviewers off that crack

Nice. The good thing is I have the whole holiday break to play some good games. I've got crazy amounts of stuff I need to play for fun. Gears of War, Bully, the Burger King games (okay, those might not be that great), and I need to finish Phoenix Wright. I'm really close to beating Phoenix, I just need to suck it up and do it.

Thanks Aaron. And I sleep plenty...it's just that there were a lot of waking hours I used for PS3 coverage.

Don't you worry none about those comments. Hell, IGN only gave it a 5.5 and 1Up gave it a freakin' 3. Sure, freak-o sites like PGNx gave it a 9.1, but hey, it comes with the territory. Ignore the haters. You're doing what you love to do.

Speaking of hate, I think all us editors should share some of the hate mail we've gotten over the years. I find them hilarious, personally, like the guy who bitched about my Vexx review, claiming it was NOT a Mario ripoff.... EFFing PLEASE!

Trust me, it's coming. You're new here, but I've spent years here reviewing games, as has Aaron, and you're going to hear and read some of the most bizarre shit ever.

I personally loved the feedback I got for my editorials. Those were effing CLASSIC.

I've done plenty of editorials and dozens of reviews, especially for high-profile stuff like the PS3. And that's just here on PSXE...
