I'm a metal fan and always have been. Because I prefer Metallica after their "transformation," I'm not a metal fan and just a "wannabe Metal Sh**head?"

Now the "Black Album"(For the record) is actually called "Metallica"(self titled). & the band Metallica fell apart when Cliff Burton died after Master of Puppets in 86, James & Kirk(who was a fill in for Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, & used his riffs for the first 6-7 years of their career. Mustaine is a SICK guitar player, & helped forge the path for young wizz kids like that of Dream Theater. Its fairly easy to emulate something you see or hear, but to create it from scratch... thats true talent.) quit drinking & turned into moaning, crying, "pitty me, cause I'm the broken soul -_-" b*t*hs. Thats when Metallica fell from its... "Hardcore" grace. Like my f***in opinion or not, I'm Canadian, I have the right to express it! You should try to avoid getting your panties in a bunch over a thread on a gaming forum in the future. I've tried to be "Holier Then Thou" on this forum? NO! You've misstaken my directness for "Holier Then Thou" bull s**t.

Your a moron, Dream Theater is a supergroup of people who graduated like top of their class at Berkley College of Music. They forged no path for dream theater, and John Petrucci of Dream Theater is hands down the best guitar player right now. And for the record Dream Theater ahs been around since 1985.. SO I highly doubt Metallica wa their muse, get your facts jackass.

Metallica isn't the founder of Metal... they just took it a step further. Bands like Black Sabbath & Venom, possibly, argueably, even Led Zeppelin can be credited to the Founding of Metal. AC/DC kicked ass with a guitar in hand for alot longer then these college preppy "perfect musicians"(tell me, master of everything in the universe. Did John Petrucci let his hair grow before, or after he graduated from college?? ). Metallica, I'm sure had very little effect on DT's style of play, but its NOTHING new, & not as special as you & a hand full of other DT fans make it out to be. The guy is fast, we all know, I've heard him play, but hes no Angus, no Tony, no Randy, Jimmi, Jimmi, Dave, Kirk. Hes just a carbon copy of all those things put together(Like most musicians these days).

Metallica may have had a small influence on john petrucci but his main influences were Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Iron Maiden, Stevie Ray Vaughn. You crack me up tho, thinking a band who hasn't had good music since 91 is the greatest ever. In my mind a great band makes unforgetable music from the begining to the end of their careers.
