Hmm... well... I'd like to give you some crap about the Utah/Laker game, but I think it would be really rude to rub it in after that embarassing 30-point spanking the Lakers handed Utah.

So I won't rub it in.

Sounds good. And I won't mention the Utah comeback win the last time they played. Or the fact that Utah still has the best record in basketball. Wouldn't want to brag.

Could be, the Mavs had a slow start, but they're cruising now. Even as big of a Utah homer as I am, I think the Mavs are the best team in the league.

I'm not sure which surprises me more, to be truthful - the success of the Jazz or the success of the Lakers so far this year. Lakers just beat the Clips again...

Mine:

West-
F- Boozer (Not a homer pick. He's a legit All-Star. It'll be KG though.)
F- Nowitzki
G- Kobe
G- Paul
C- Yao

East-
F- LeBron
F- Bosh
G- Joe Johnson
G- Iverson
C- Howard

Some of yours are kinda weird. T-Mac and Grant Hill? Amare over Yao?

All-star voting is as much about favorites as it is about stats.

For instance, I know Boozer is having a nice year; I just don't care for him. Another example: I have never seen Bosh play - don't know a thing about him. But I know Grant Hill is playing well this year, and I know I really like him.

Yeah, it tough to fault someone for voting that way when, at the end of the day, it's a fairly meaningless exhibition for the fans. Personally I try to vote for people who I think have had the best years, rather than on who I like (hence the Kobe vote), but I would imagine that most people don't take it that seriously (and if it wasn't used to justify stuff like Hall of Fame voting, I wouldn't either). Hill has had a decent year, I just don't see how it's all-star level. And even then I wouldn't mind people voting for him so much if he hadn't already had a ton of previous pity selections in the years where he was hurt. Someone not voting for Boozer doesn't bug me at all though; it's not like KG isn't amazing. Boozer's done a little bit better, but it's close enough that I don't really care either way.
