Lakers are down 3-1. Not terribly surprised. Too bad their roster won't play with the heart they had in Game 3 on a regular basis... I think they're done Wednesday night (Game 5). *sigh*

Hard to believe (in the grand scheme) that the Heat got swept. Not so hard considering the first three games. Wonder if Wade will ever win again. Sort of like Sam Cassel.

I haven't watched any of the Utah/Houston series, with the exception of the second half of Game 4. Sounds like a good series, though.

I'm pretty interested in this Mavs/GS series. Heck of a Game 4 tonight (it's the end of the 3rd and Baron Davis just tied it up on a steal/dunk - similar to his half-time tie-up). Davis has been a stud this series. I think we all knew that GS would give the Mavs some problems, but this is startling. I would have guessed the Little General to have more tricks up his sleeves than this.

Any predictions on Bulls/Pistons? I'm thinking it'll be a long series.

Here's hoping Denver can pull out a miracle. I just can't stand the thought of SA winning.

Yeah, LA isn't looking too hot, not surprising really. The Suns had that one game where they let them steal one by playing like crap, but other than that it's been pretty one-sided. I think it'll be over in 5 too.

I was a little surprised to see the Heat get swept, but not too much. They had a decent team, but they never looked like much of a threat to me after Wade got hurt. Don't know if Wade will ever win again, it depends on what they put around him. This rotating supporting cast of old guys thing needs to end soon though. They might want to blow the whole thing up and start rebuilding while he's still young, but that's hard to do with Shaq still around.

You aren't missing much by not watching the Utah series. It's even in terms of wins, but the games themselves have been pretty terrible. If I didn't like Utah, I'd ignore it too.

Great series between GS and Dallas. Nellie's done a great job with Golden State this year, and they did a nice job making moves to get the right parts for his system. I feel sorta bad for Dallas, this really is the worst possible first round matchup for them.

I'll say Pistons over Chicago in 6. The Bulls have a nice young team, but the Pistons are at a level above the rest of the East right now. Which is sorta annoying because I really hate that team, but that's just how it goes.

Don't think you're getting your miracle with Denver/SA. Spurs have got a good team this year. Sorry.

Bit surprised by the Nets/Raps series. I know Toronto is inexperienced, but they look much better than this in the regular season. The last couple games haven't even been close. Too bad, because I have a feeling Toronto might wind up falling back to earth a bit next year.

The Bulls will beat the Pistons in six, but I'm a big Bulls fan though. The Bulls beat the Pistons 3 out of 4 times during the regular season (Bulls won both road games), so I think the Bulls can beat them (The only tip the Pistons beat the Bulls was a final tip-in by Weber). Do not underestimate the Bulls.

I was so happy they beat the Heat. Most didn't think the Bulls could beat the Heat, but I'm glad they proved everyone wrong by sweeping them.

So far, my eastern conference predictions are dead on, since I even expected the Nets to beat the Raptors (Nets have players who have been in the playoffs many times, while the Raptors do not). The only thing throwing off my bracket is the Warriors leading the Mavericks. To an extent, I can see why, since Don Nelson coaches Golden State now (he use to coach Dallas). He probably predict what the Mavericks will do since he use to coach them.

The Nets haven't beaten the Raps yet...

Looks like the Mavs are making a fight of it tonight. Up by 20 in the 2nd quarter...

Welp, there go the Mavs. That was a crazy series. I feel kinda bad for the Mavs, but good for G-State, Oakland is a great basketball town, and they deserve to have to team that they can be excited about. Huge games by Stephan Jackson (SEVEN threes!?) and Baron Davis (with the bad hammy no less). That's a fun team to watch, looking ahead can you imagine how much fun the potential Western Conference Finals matchup between them and the Suns would be (even though I don't want it to happen for obvious reasons)? Man. Bad series for Dirk, it's gonna weird seeing him get the MVP here soon after that debacle. I think the secret to him is to guard him with someone smaller. He's just not athletic enough to drive around them, and he doesn't have must of post game, so he winds up shooting jumpers all night. That's great when they're falling like they are some nights, but when they aren't, it can be pretty ugly for him.

Jazz won again. Like I said, totally different team at home, and it's going to be a shame if they wind up losing the series because they blew home court advantage going down the stretch. Big game by Kirilenko. He finally started to score a little, and was a monster on D, pretty much shuting down T-Mac. As great as he can be, this has been a rough year for him, I'm not so sure that Utah wouldn't be better off trading him for a swingman or draft pick in the offseason. He seems like he might have been the proverbial great player on a bad team, and I think he's better off when he's allowed to play the 4 (which he can't do in Utah because of Boozer, who continued to be Utah's best player with a great game again last night. Huge series from him). I don't think that will actually happen, and I'd be sad to see him go, but I'm not so sure it wouldn't be for the best.

Game seven tomorrow night in Houston. I really do think Utah is the better of the two teams, but they're bad on the road, and I have this terrible feeling that McGrady is going to explode. His history in big play-off games isn't the greatest, but he still really worries me. Still, I'm excited for the game, it's been awhile since Utah was in a game as big as this one. It's good to be back in the playoffs, whatever happens.

Yeah itd be a travesty giving the MVP to Dirk, it would show that the award has little actual relevence. So far it looks to be Chicago in the east, maybe Cleveland, to come to the forefront. Suns, Spurs, otherwise, the Houston Jazz series has been pretty even it looks like. Mavs and Heat, both a buncha shredded wheat this year, nothing in em but a buncha air. The NBA is a lot like the NFL nowadays, the same teams rarely show back up, at least not year to year, i think the Spurs better years are pretty much behind them for a while. Maybe not, but who knows. I guess Detroit could be pretty good, im not following the east at all, just hear a little about the west teams...

It'd hardly be a travesty. It was a weird year as far as MVP canidates go, but he's right near the top of the list. He had arguably the best season of anyone on a team that won 67 games. It's a regular season award, the fact that he had a bad playoff series doesn't take away from the great season he had or change the fact that he's a great player. The award is going to be given to him at an odd time considering what just happened, but he's a worthy winner.

And I don't know why you'd say the Spurs best years are behind them, they're great this year. I'd say they're the best team left. Out East, Detroit is still the team to beat.

I just look at an aging Duncan, and some of their other players, i think Kevin Willis may wanna go run over there and steal some money from them, too, while he can. Yeah MVP is for the regular season, so no wonder i really dont care. Its probably Dirk's best shot, though be assured we here in the metroplex pretty much dont give any of that a second thought, and no one thinks Dirk is the mvp, either. At least the better teams are rising to the top, i see NJ is coming up against Cleveland, tonight will be fun Houston vs. Utah...

SA will win it, I'm sad to say.

And Huston is 1.7 away from losing tonight. Bummer. I really wanted it for McGrady this year (with apologies to your Jazz, )

*sigh* Crumby playoffs (none of my teams are winning).
