FF: Advent Children
Well I indeed went out and bought it and have to say I thought it was great. I watched it once in Japanese with subtitles then immediately watched it through again with English settings. Excellent both times.
I can see why some FF fans might not like the style as it was much more frantic that a traditional FF experience but I like to think that if you condense a 100 hour game into 1 hour 40 min, this is what you would get. I may even watch it again this weekend

Glad you liked it! I've bought a copy off play.com, but it hasn't arrived yet (for some odd reason) but I can't wait to watch it on my big screen. I've already seen it though and I agree with you about the condensing thing.

I ordered mine from Play and got it the Saturday before release?!

Gab, you do what I do when I watch those sort of films...
watch it in the original first, then dubbed. but was there any translation differences? if you ever watch Spirited away, you will see shed loads! and very amusing it is too... going to pick up FF: AC on umd soon (yes.. I did say UMD.. im on of those 1%ers that like UMD's.. lol)

I got it today actually, I think it took so long because I had a little hiccup with my dad's account (he's changed his card since the last time I went on play). It messed up the processing and stuff then and they didnt send it till Monday. Keep in mind I only sorted this all out on Friday evening :P
I was actually going to buy the UMD as well, in a bundle with the DVD for £22.99, but I dont have the money really.

I'm probably gonna grab the dvd/umd bundle also. I hate taking up so much space on my mem stick for movies.

Ya, I dl 2 different jp avi files. I even found a bootleg at a dvd shop here in Calgary for 10 bucks. The english subs were so bad I cracked the disc in half......
I've only seen small bits from it, not the whole thing so I'll be picking this up soon. |

Yeah, I've seen at least three different fan subs, and they've all been relatively different. Especially that dilly dally bit (the only annoying part of the translation).
Generally there are a few more swear words, but not too many are in it anyway. Infact, compared to the first sub I saw, theres one or two more, or atleast in different places. It's quite evident that its been done more profesionally for the DVD though.
