That was indeed a mad race. i couldn't believe what happened top Button right at the end .

At this rate no one will seriously challenge Alonso.

Do you think Montoya was right to regain his grid position after his spin?

There's no way he should have be let back in there. He was out of pos and should have been put at the back of the grid or even pitlane start.

Great race indeed. 4 safety cars LOL Poor old JB no pace after restarts due to tire warmth (or lack of) Then a spectacular engine blowout at the end. Understandable that they pulled him over before the line to avoid an engine change and 10 place penalty.

I just wonder when his luck will change. Great qualifying as well. Honda looking good.

Alonso was awesome. If there were no safety cars he would have been about 1 minute in front. The Renault seems to have so much more pace than any other team. Fisi was getting the hurry up over the team radio which I found very amusing.

Looking forward to the next race but what a start to an F1 season. Best for a long time.

BTW have you guys noticed it is only normally us who post in F1 topics

Looks like we are the only ones who like f1. Well, finally my ftp is working. Seems the official f1 site doesn't like ppl taking their images. So, I'll post some here.

Fini's view of button (that looked like the gate to hell right there!)

Another wonderful day in the world of Massa.

Hmmm....

Grrr....17 days left till San Marino....

I've spent a lot of time asleep sedated to pass the time.

Let's hope the other teams have upped the ante and don't let Renault run away with it.

Whilst on the train to work this morning. Saw in the paper that Renault have souped up Fisichella's engine to give him more power than Alonso for this race. Still bet he does not beat him though. Hope Button gets some luck this weekend, at least he will be running a new engine.

Unreal, how can Jenson have so much bad luck. If only the old lollipop man had not lifted early he would have been on the podium for sure. Nice drive from Schu though fair play to him.

What a race!!!!! Mirror image of last years race at the end, but reversed! That roll Albers did on the first lap, damn. I haven't seen a roll like that for many races.

I had to tape the race (it was on at 5:00am here ) So I kept replaying the incident with Button. OMFG So many things went wrong with that pit stop. Stop/Go Man (itv f1 wanted a new name for that guy) Slow motion on the sign, you can see it hit Buttons head! Talk about comedy (sry Button fans) 4 or 5 pit crew get taken down by the fuel snake (those things should be caged)

Anybody see Shumi victory lap with the fans on the track just about b4 he entered pit lane? Some guy almost got hit lol. Good showing from Shumi, he stood fast and kept that car in 1st even with those strange tire probs.

All in all, another wicked race. Since the new changes (last year) and Renault huge jump in car performance and other cars jumping up. 2005 and now 2006 have been the best years of F1 since I can remember. Look for my new F1 topic on the pit babes of 2006 so far (hey, no booth babes at E3 anymore, so I got to get my babes from somewhere!)

My all time fav race is next (Nürburgring) and it looks like it's going to kick some butt this year!

IMO opinion I think Alonso will storm the Nurburgring. I cannot see any of the teams keeping up with the Renault there. Especially with his style of attacking driving. Cannot wait for it.
