Pretty random thread, but I myself just picked up a pair of tickets to see George Carlin on Jan. 15th, and Nine Inch Nails Feb. 24th. I've got floor tickets for NIN and 3rd row for George Carlin. All 4 tickets cost me right around $175; which isn't too bad as far as my standards go.

Saw Carlin earlier this year, pretty good stuff even though he does a lot of old material. Saw his HBO special the other day and it was like going to the same concert again lol. Ive seen him and Tommy Chong this year, imo Chong is one of the funniest suckers ever, the man is abfrackin hilarious, and his wife entertains with him, she is gorgeous ... Been to a lotta concerts this year, been a good year for entertainment overall......

I'd have to agree with farf on this one. Well, at least for me personally. I'm not going to any shows really in the near future, but this year has been an onslaught of wicked shows for me. This year, for me, includes:
Limblifter - Feb. 11 - awesome little show in the tiniest of venues. So good. Pillar - March 12 - rocking good show, for free at some highschool concert. Met the band afterwards too, nice guys. Pacific International Auto Show - April 8 - okay, so maybe this isn't a "show" per se, but man were there some KILLER cars. U2 - April 29, Vancouver - Ok, so probably THE best concert I've ever been to, but it's hard to compare it to Radiohead (whom I saw two years ago). Two completely different bands. The stage presence of U2 is ubelievable, and they are definitely there to entertain. Not only that, they sound AMAZING live. Long setlist too, like 2hrs. Not only that, I had floor seats (GA) for this one and got some CRAZY good pictures of Bono and the gang. Right close up, so awesome. Seattle Supersonics, Round 2 of Playoffs, Game 4 vs. San Antonio Spurs - May 15 - my first NBA playoff game, and boy was it unreal. Such an energetic crowd, just crazy. Sonics won the game too, but unfortunately went on to lose the round. BC Lions vs. Ottawa Senators - July 8 - all I can say is...LONG LIVE CFL!!! hahaha Billy Corgan - July 19 - awesome show, definitely chill. His solo album is actually pretty good IMO. As expected, he didn't play any Pumpkins stuff... Blindside - July 23 - Drove down to Seattle for this one...TOTALLY worth it. What a rockin show. Small venue, and I was at the front of the stage the entire time. Rocked my face off. Foo Fighters - August 5 - Another rocking good show. I had floor tickets for this one, and it was simply killer. Amazing setlist, Grohl was funny as usual and yelled his face off, and there was a crazy big ring of nut-jobs that opened up right in front of me, just a bunch of idiots beating the crap out of eachother, jumping around and into eachother, very funny but dangerous. Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK) - September 5 - played in the small city in which I live (160,000 population) for a cheap price. Pretty good. Sigur Ròs - September 27 - An experience of a lifetime. It was more than just a concert, it was a real auditory/visual/spiritual experience. Some of their music is so moving, and live they are UNBELIEVABLE. Easily in my top 5 best concerts ever attended. Metric - October 30 - went to the afternoon all-ages show, which I kinda regret. The show was wicked awesome, played lots of good tunes, but was surrounded by a ton of eleven-teen-year olds... = lots of screaming and hurting of the ears. So overall, quite the amazing year in terms of shows/concerts. I'm quite pleased to live so close to Vancouver to have all these opportunities to see so many different events. p.s. If anybody wants any pictures or videos from any of the above concerts/events, just ask and I can provide . I sneak my camera into every concert I go to now, haha.

Iowa unfortunatly hasn't had a lot of good shows in quite awhile. I am seeing 311 in Des Moines in a few weeks, I've seen them live before and they do a pretty good job. My college actually has pretty good track record of landing decent bands or artists in the past (Ben Folds played here last year and Dave Matthews Band actually made a live CD here a few years ago that's really good) and being a student I get to go for free. The Bravery played here in September; they're not bad but nothing too special, if the tickets hadn't been free I probably wouldn't have gone. We'll see who comes in Spring Semester.

Great Falls is another out-of-the-way area, so I haven't done much either. Although I did make it to a Todd Agnew concert a few months back. I really like his newest stuff, which wasn't played in the concert
![]() Barlow girl (so so) and Warren Barfield (pretty good live, much better than on album) also played. I would absolutely LOVE to see U2 in concert... That must have been sweet.
