Default Guitar AMP?

Can anyone recommend a decent guitar amp for around the £150 mark.
My mate says i should get a Laney MXD-120.
Are these any good?

Thanks

Well, if you have no preference go for whatever marshall you can afford. They make the best quality amps IMO.

Well, they both seem pretty righteous.. but...

The Laney seems to have aot of effects to mess around with which is very nice to have to keep you motivated to play sometimes (dont get bored to easily, in other words). But I can't speak on the quality of that company. As for marshall, it seems they have more or less just your standard effects that come with a small amp, but I CAN speak on marshall quality and I can vouch and say it is absolutely top notch, grade A equipment. So as for me, i'd say marshall based on quality, but if you know anyone with that Laney amp; see what they think of it.

I have a Laney bass amp, and the quality is great, but its a bass amp, so I dont know what their guitars amps are like (obviously).
