Default DVD Recorders (Mini-DV "in")

Tru Tech DVD Recorder - New Line Carried by Target Stores

I ran across an ad for this thing in yesterday's paper. I noticed that it specifically brags about having a "DV in" port, which would facilitate direct recording from a Mini-DV camcorder to a DVD.

Since it records to DVD, the format has to be the MPEG format, which I've been struggling to convert my Mini-DV video to. This thing sounds like the answer to my frustrations.

Anyone have any feedback on it? I think it's new, so I doubt anyone's had one yet, but you never know.

Also, is the Mini-DV 'in' port common among ALL DVD recorders?
