Tony Hawke - For those who may care

Tony Hawke visited the skate park in my little po-dunk town earlier this week.

Apparently he's doing a tour of random skate parks around the country, and Great Falls was city #3 on the tour.

He just showed up unannouced, and the little skater-kids there started calling all their buddies via cell phone. Pretty soon there was a whole conflab.

Eventually Great Falls' finest showed up and issued some citations, including infractions of the helmet law and one disorderly conduct. Reportedly, the little skater-kids surrounded a patrol car and made the officer feel nervous enough to call for backup.

Then the media showed up and interviewed little skater-kids bad-mouthing the police.

Interesting, sort of.

Can't say that I care too much, honestly, beyond the fact that it's intriguing that he showed up here at all. I'm sure it made the day of quite a few little boarders.

I think it's spelled "Hawk" Svos

Regardless, I think it's pretty cool that he showed up there. He's pretty much a god in the world of skating, although I don't know much about skating or follow it closely, if at all. I just know some of the names from the Tony Hawk games

shows how much of a fan I am, eh?

I enjoy watching X Games on ESPN, but skate boarding is one of my least favorite events.
