Default Hurricane damage!

I'm still shocked at everything thats happened over the past couple of days. Ive got a uncle in louisianna that we have yet to hear from. I'm praying that he is ok. I just can't believe that it really happened. Everytime I see something on TV about it. It literally turns my stomach. Ecspecially when they play some of the emergency calls they got.

We are getting quite a bit of news coverage over here. I hope there aren't many who didn't make it.

Fingers crossed for hearing from your uncle soon.

He called today. So i'm pretty calm now. I'm still stunned by the footage there showing. This and the Tsunami all within the past couple of years worries me about these natural disasters and how often there ocurring now. Hell, I don't think the hurricane season is even close to being over yet is it?

I've heard that only about 30% of the people evacuated from NO, and right now about 30% of the people that didn't are dead.

NO is going to be under water until they build pumps to get the water out.

It's such a sad situation. New Orleanes is a really cool city and it will probably never be the same. Hopefully they can get things built back up quickly and get people back into their homes.

I'd have to agree. Some of the images and stories I'm seeing/hearing are just terrible. It seems like a LOT of people are just in desperation mode. I also can't believe how much looting is going on, which is sad to see as well. I can understand grabbing essential things from stores like food and maybe even clothes...but stuff like electronics and such? Crazy how much of that is going on. What I don't get is why it is/has been taking so long to get [more] army and National Guard personnell in there to enforce laws and establish control of the entire situation. The whole sense of lawlessness that is abundant seems a little too crazy to me. I mean, I hear stories of people shooting at cops and helecopters that want to help out? Gimme a break...
