A while back I used to think Billy Corgan was adored more or less universally among the musically literate, and then I came into contact with more and more people--people who had well-founded opinions about music--who absolutely hated his voice...I think Billy Corgan's done some pretty remarkable things and, even though sometimes he succumbs to the nauseating nihilistic stereotype, I really like the way he writes.

Thom Yorke is amazing...I love his voice; I love his lyrics; I love the way he carries himself...I'm blessed to have heard that band.

As far as Maynard's groups go, I think I've actually decided I like APC better than TooL...even though it's folly to compare the two groups because they're entirely dissimilar, I think APC makes better use of Maynard's voice...moreover with Tool, amazing though they are, I think you get the sense that his words are more or less subordinate to the music...which is fine, if you're into the sound more than the lyrics, but I tend to key in on the writing. With APC I think it's the opposite--you get the feeling that the music was written to reinforce Maynard's verses...I love them both.

I personally have been heavy into The Beatles - Rubber Soul. I swear man, it's like the most unheard Beatles album they made. And I think it's one of the best. Right up there with the White Album and Sgt Pepper. And BTW Arnold, I can't really say I like that Beatles "1" compilation. It's an OK introduction for someone who's never heard The Beatles, but definitely not their best work. But of course I'm sure you've heard other albums so that doesn't concern you much.

EDIT: On a side note, I've been trying to figure out that song from the Saturn commercial as well. You mean the "Leaving High School" one, right farf? It sounds a bit like an 80's song...?

Im not sure of the name of it, Tosser, but i will check that name in Kazaa. Thanks for mentioning it, im very curious, because it sounds like a group ive enjoyed since the early eighties, Asia, although it isnt them. If they sound similar, though, id definitely like them... Tried Kazaa, it wasnt there under that name, i did download Rubber Soul, the complete album, in about fifteen minutes!! Love the internet!!
