Happy B-Day. Today and tomorrow are my last days on FFXI. I am quitting. Game has lost interest to me.

I was in Bismarck Server and i was a:
44 whm, 36 or 38 pld(i forgot lol), 30 war, 25 blm, 16 or 17 nin(again i forgot lol), 10 mnk.

Mages are much more fun. Though i didn't do it, RDM is one of the most fun jobs to level.

I'm a lvl 7 War on Leviathan server. Im finding it abit difficult at the moment, not being able to heal myself during battle, but I'll get better eventually :P

I think Im gunna go for Paladin once I reach lvl 30......

Yes i did warrior then pally as well. Pally can be really fun, but at times it sucks.

PLD and WHM were my favorite to lvl. PLD gets real fun at higher levels. But it'll be hard times for you as a pld, hell for anyone that's a pld. If you chose the role of pld be prepared to die a lot for your pt. I once delvled twice from 17 down to 15. That's how much i kept on dieing.

WHM's are great for traveling. I have all teleports, warp with my sub blm, and i can use airship + chocobo so i'm loving it.

lvls 1-10 aren't too hard to lvl. 1-5 are easy, it may be a little hard from 8-10. But once you are lvl 10 you can start partying in Valkurm Dunes.

lvls 1-6 were really easy, but I keep trying to do this quest, and I get so far before being killed off by a load of goblins. So I'm just gunna level up and leave that for now. I can't wait to start partying, should be much better.

which quest?

You may need to be a higher lvl.

At the beginning of the game try and focus on leveling to 18 and then doing the sub job quest, find someone that can help you. Then level your subjob and then start doing easier quests by yourself.

Until lvl 30, the game won't kick in as much. Once you reach lvl 20 you'll start seeing newer places as well as get your chocobo license. But at lvl 30 you'll be able to travel a lot more by foot without problems and do many quests and missions yourself. By lvl 40 you're going to be doing a hell lot of missions and quests, and by 40+ lvls are when you can really start making money. Hell you can probably start making good gil somewhere in the lvl 30's even.

But for now i would tell you to focus lvling to 20. Get your subjob quest done at 18 and your chocobo quest done at 20. Then the game will kick in.

between lvl 1-10 delvling is almost impossible. You lose very little xp. At higher lvls xp loss is a bitch. Especially past lvl 50. You will find yourself dieing a couple of times lvling from lvl 10-20. After that most parties are much better. from lvl 40+ is when most parties you go into will not die. Because xp loss is great at those lvls, dieing is something no one in the party wants.

It was the first quest for Cid in Bastok, and like you said Im just gunna concertrate on lvling up now, seems like the best policy to me. Thanks for the advice
