Question about Computer Speakers

I'm looking to get a nice set of speakers to hook up to my PC (Inspiron 600m on a d/port), and hopefully TV with an adapter. Right now, I'm looking at theLogitech Z-5500 What do you guys think? What company should I go with if I want a 5.1 system for comp and a tv?

I have a 2.1 Logitech setup and it sounds great. Logitech makes good 'bang for your buck' speakers.

I have the Logitech 5300 and they are awesome speakers. You will probably be very happy with the 5500.

The 600m doesn't have all that great of a soundcard to waste $300 on speakers imo. I as well have the 600m and i wouldn't buy 5.1 speakers.

Those logitech speakers you're chosing on the other hand are excellent. IMO logitech has the best sound quality in speakers for the PC out today. As for the TV, they may be good but not great, for there are better TV speakers out. And there primarly made for use with a PC and not TV.

Other then that Logitech is great, i wish i had them myself. The Bass on them is unbelievable as well, if you're a big fan of Hip Hop, you'll fall in love with those speakers.

Sweet, thanks for the input. I mainly just want a set up for my dorm room when I head back to school.

Dmitry, do you have an upgraded sound card or video card? I really have no idea how well the 600m can be "upgraded".

Nope, unless you have the external Soundcard when you bought the labtop from Dell, i doubt 5.1 speakers of such great callibur would be worth spending money on.
