It like the commercial for the Bowflex "Tread Climber."

The skinny chick in the commercial tells us how the machine moves in one "easy" motion (which they later describe as being similar to walking in sand).

Why would I want to spend big bucks on an exercise machine that doesn't make me work???

Same thing with that stupid "Ab Lounger" (what a dumb name). They talk about it working your abs with an "effortless" motion.

????

Clearly they're making these claims to entice those among us who would take an escalator into a fitness center

Personally I've always liked Brian Regan's take on the Step.
"Oh boy, my Step is coming in the mail today!"
Then they run down the steps to go get it

Maybe they have a nice bar situated just before the changing rooms as well.

Hey, don't laugh.

An athletic club I used to belong to in another town actually did have a bar directly attached to the rest of the facilities.

I always thought it was stupid, but I guess it made money...

Well, considering 24 Hour Fitness is connected to a shopping mall, it's really not that outrageous. While the people using the escalator appear to be entering the gym, I'm sure others that use the stairs or escalators may continue down the strip. You also have to consider whether the escalators were at this location before 24 Hour Fitness moved into the building.

I know, I know...sorry for ruining your fun.

How do you know it's located in a shopping mall?

And thank you very much for ruining the fun. :P
