I snagged a cord clip from an old cell phone hands-free mic and I use that to keep my ear buds from yoinking out everytime I turn my head.
But, like you guys, I find the ear buds are uncomfortable after a bit (anything over about 30 minutes, and they get anoying). That's why I was considering the behind-the-neck band. I was hoping they would be better than the buds for comfort. Not to mention, I was hoping they would stay put better. I know these are absurdly cheap, which probably indicates really really poor quality (vs. only poor quality, which I could probably live with if they were comfortable enough), but I'm still considering them: NexxTechâ„¢ Backband Headphones (331-3000) Anybody have any experience with these??

A little left of center

Reviews say they seem good enough, and for the price, it wont set you back much if you get them and decide you don't like them. I say they 'look' decent for the price, but as you can't tell what they sound like from an image, i cant judge.
they do look alright though. |

I bought a pair of Phillips buds with over-the-ear hooks. They were only $10, and I was able to get them in town here. The sound almost exactly like the buds that came with the player (which is fine with me).
They feel a little different, of course, but I think I can get used to it quickly. The nice thing is that they seem stable. I plan on taking the kid out for a bike ride later today (and I also plan on mowing the lawn), so I guess I'll test them out soon enough. If they don't work, I'll try the NexxTech set next, I guess. Hopefully I won't have to, though. ~~~~~~~~~ On a semi-related note: While looking for headphones in stores today, I ran across a few of the fm modulators for mp3 players (not brand specific; supposedly will work with any player that has the standard headphone jack). Anyone have experience with these? Are they any good? How long 'til standard in-dash car stereos have a mp3 player input? That'd be nice. Better yet, just have a USB to transfer mp3s from a jump drive.
