Today's my 8th wedding anniversary.
I think I'll stay at work late and finish up these stupid reports... Maybe we'll be able to celebrate this weekend - hopefully.

Well happy anniversary old man!
(I actually don't know the status of your age) It's too bad you have work holding you back, but hopefully things go well soon enough. |

Congrats, that is a good amount of time considering the divorce rates nowadays. My parents have been married 18 years now, but have been together longer than that.

Congrats
My parents have been married for about 21 years now but I'd say happily married for the first 10

You apparently haven't been married to a woman who's 8 months pregnant (at the same time you've got a 2 year old in the house). Let's just say "the spirit is willing, but..." ~~~~~~ If we go totally nuts, we may get a baby sitter and go see Star Wars I think we're old before our time ~~~~~~ On a more serious note, though, I'm very grateful for the blessing of my wife. We get on each other's nerves occasionally, but I can't imagine a woman better suited to me. Plus, she is totally devoted and fully supportive. When your wife is devoted and supportive, it makes it much easier to treat her well and do what you can to support and protect her. ~~~~~~ You know that old Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers" (some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers)? I just visited some old highschool friends this weekend. One of my buddies married the girl that I was desperately infatuated with in early high school. After her second kid, she's about 75 pounds overweight; it is easy to see now that what I had longed for and prayed for back then would be a disappointment to me now. Not that my wife and I are prime specimens of human conditioning. It's just that I fell in love with my wife for who she is, which is unchanged by her appearance. With the other chick, it was all about appearance (which is gone now). Praise God for unanswered prayers!
