Thread reply emails??

I've just checked my inbox and spotted several thread reply emails. I know I haven't received any of these for a very VERY long time.

This just started happening for others?

What was the reason for the emails not coming through previously? I seem to remember Arnold stopping all email functions due to the fact we were all having major problems with them so I assume this is something that's recently been worked out.

Good question, i never had any trouble with them, but whatever you wanna do thats fine. Might be a way of keeping people into a thread better, though...

Yeah, some of the new members post then never come back not realising they've had a reply. This way it jogs their minds and makes them come back to the site.

I'm glad you brought this up. After seeing activity going down here, we found out that the forum's email system wasn't working for a long time now. That hurts the forum in two major ways, 1) you can't retrieve your password if you lost it (and many just dont come back again), 2) the email notifications about new posts in threads you participate in don't get to you, so many less frequent members forget to come back.

I'd like to get more feedback on this email feature, and please report if you're not getting the emails that you're suppose to.

Dont forget that you can turn the email notifications on/off in your "User CP (control panel)" when you're logged in.

I remember a while ago I had that same notification problem and it's only because I happened to have a direct email for a few guys here that I got it sorted. I'm sure that it is the reason why a lot sign up but never post.

As it's sorted now it shouldn't be an issue any more.
