Question Have you ever just been, confused?

I don't know whats been up with me lately. But I just haven't been myself. I don't know what I want to do with my life still. I'm working all the time and I hate my job (I work in a -20 degree freezer. Don't even try bitchin about your job ). Im usually a happy person, but sometimes I just get really sad. I don't know maybe its just all finally hitting me that things change alot when you get out in the real world. It seems the only time I'm ever feel like myself and truly happy is when I'm playing music. Now I know there are some older people here, and some people around my age, or even the younger cats, have you ever been through anything like this. I just dont know if its normal. I mean sometimes when I get sad, I'm even thinking why are you feeling like this... Its like theres a hole in me I can't fill, or haven't filled yet. I don't know what it is, maybe you guys dont either.. Or maybe you dont even care. But if you have any advice, please. Help me out.

Thanks, and sorry for ranting like this.

GD I'm a little older than you and trust me, we ALL go through a little "depression" or soul searching. Sometimes you just get tired of the same routine or a situation in your life happens that makes you look at things a TOTALLY different way. Then you start to wonder, am I wasting my life? Could I be happier doing something else, being with someone else?

I'm not sure what your particular issue is but we all have them and it doesn't mean you need meds or any shit like that, just time. Time to figure out what the problem is, if there even is one, and then then what you need or eant to do different. And trust me everyone (most ppl at least) don't like their job(s) and working alot of hours and not doing other activities or hobbies you do enjoy will make your life hell sometimes.

I have my up and downs days (sometimes weeks) and like I said WE ALL DO, just remember it's not the end of the world, things WILL get better... just BE COOL.

P.S. Oh yeah try doing something that makes you happy that you haven't done in a long time due to not being able to cause of work hours or time restraints due to family or GF's. Then use that time to reflect on what exactly it is thats troubling you.

It usually helps me to just get away from everyone and sit back and relax and reflect. i have a park I used to love going to when I was young but never go there anymore cause I don't live by that side of town anymore, but it has a huge hill and you can see the airfield lights and planes taking off and landing from there. I go there and sit on that hill in peace and quiet with a nice big cigar of wacky backy and go to my happy place to reflect.

The top three things that brought total joy to my life:

Converting to Buddhism
The birth of my nephew (even though his mother is the worst example for a parent)
And quitting pot.

I highly suggest the latter one.

Having both hight levels of OCD and Man. Depression, I totaly know where you're coming from. Sometimes its best just to sit alone in quiet, and think about whatever starts popping into your head, because more often than not its part of the problem.

Also, I suggest reading "Living Buddha, Living Christ" (Thich Nhat Hanh). The book is more of a life guide to finding happiness than a Buddhist "bible". Its a very good read, and everytime I pick it up, I end up reading the whole book, smiling the whole time.

Or just drink heavily, that also works (Joke)
