Well, the deal isn't official until March 2, but it appears Moss is headed to Oakland for linebacker Napoleon Harris, #7 overall draft pick, and another late round pick. As much as I think Moss is one of the best receivers in the league, I like the way the trade sounds. Also, with the number of wide receiver free agents available (Burress, Bruce, Muhammad, Mason), the Vikings may be able to pick up a quality player. With the #7 overall pick, we may be able to get CB Adam Jones from West Virginia. There's also a few promising wide receivers in the draft, but I'd rather get a solid defensive player.

There was mention of this in the Bledsoe thread but I'll post my thoughts here.
If they manage to pick up someone like Muhammad or Mason that's fine but otherwise I'm not sure I like it as much as you. I think Moss is the best WR is the game and I don't think picking up Harris (who is a good player) and a first rounder, which I agree should address the defensive backfield, makes up for it. It doesn't work all the well for the Raiders either. They lose one of their only good defensive players, and a high pick that could further help the D or get a good running back, all to add to the posistion at which they were strongest. Collins (who still has a very strong arm) throwing to Curry, Porter, and Moss will be fun to watch but they're not gonna win many games. I think Al Davis's love for the deep ball has gone a bit too far. |

I have to agree with you, Moss is probably today's best WR. Burress is really nice as well, but Mason would be an excellent grab. Titans have really been going downhill, not resigning some of there great players.

I have to disagree. Moss can be the leagues best. But there are alot of youngsters in the league now. That are going to be amazing. Andre Johnson of the Texans is one of those. He is going to be something special. The league is full of talented wide outs. Narrowing it down to the best is tough. But, I will say this. Moss in oakland is going to bring a new high to his game.

I'm sorry to come in here and complain, but this is the kind of shit that gets my Dad so pissed off.
He nearly hit me because he was so pissed (he's a Vikings fan), when I simply went to go thank him for buying me Gran Turismo 4. It sucks that Moss had to go, because in Madden, I always threw the ball to his ass (I played as the Vikings for that reason, to have him on my team)...oh well. This really affects me none, but...I just wish my Dad would stop having such a ****ing fit over bullshit like this. Yell at me when I'm going to thank him...last time I'll ever do that.

If we ever do the forum awards again there ought to be a category for the strangest non sequitur of the year.
