Default Bledsoe Reunited with Parcells

Well, it looks like Drew Bledsoe is headed to Dallas. I was wondering what farfus and Cowboy felt about the whole situation, or anyone else for that matter. I honestly think it's a good fit.

Got a jump on me there, Matt. Well, personally, ive got mixed feelings, because i listen to the sports shows around here, and there isnt a ton of support for getting him. The examples of teams letting their young quarterbacks play through their "breaking in" periods and become young quarterbacks of the future has to come to mind. Parcells is probably here for the two remaining years of his contract, and then leaves us with no clue as to where to turn in direction. Bledsoe apparently was getting sacked a lot in Buffalo, so to be honest, i have a feeling Parcells is going for a quick fix, the main thing is how the draft turns out now, but honestly i have no idea where Parcells is going with this team....

LOL, WTF is Parcells deal with these guys. I think Bledsoe will be better than Vinny. But what is his deal with bringing in all of his ex washed up QB's.

Its still not totally a done deal, but if they get Bledsoe it pretty much says there isnt faith in Henson, which is sad to say the least. From what im hearing Jerry Jones doesnt know what to think, either, if that gives you any clue. We will know shortly what is going on, the contract, if there is one, will say a lot.........

He'd be okay if Dallas had a good line and a speed reciever to take advantage of his strong arm...but they have neither. He could wind up taking a LOT of hits. Still he and Parcells seem to get along well, and he's a lot better than Vinny. It's got the potential to work out well. I think I'd rather have someone who can move a little (Jeff Garcia maybe?)

To answer your question PSFan, they keep bring in "washed-up QBs" because they don't have any one on their roster that's ready to play right now but can't sign anyone long term because Jerry Jones seems to think that Henson is the future of the franchise. Parcells seems to disagree, and probably won't stick around to find out (personally I have no idea where I stand on the issue, it's still too soon). He wants to try to win as much now as possible and he's bringing in guys that HE likes and thinks he has a shot to win with.

Thats seeing it real clearly, Cowboy, for sure. The sports radio station i listen to was kinda split on the subject this morning. The morning early am guys totally hate the idea of Bledsoe coming here, they intereviewed Henson two days ago and really want him to get a chance (which he should have for the rest of the year Thanksgiving on). My favorite sports person for 25 years, Norm Hitzges, thinks that Bledsoe could become a nice addition depending on just how they plan on using him, but he also believes that you dont sign Bledsoe to a 5 year 42 million dollar contract, either, more like a two year $4 or $5 million dollar contract. This shall be interesting for sure. Expect a lotta Cowboy blab in the offseason. Oh, btw, Darren Woodson isnt impressed with Bledsoe at all, he was interviewed the other day on my radio station...

Now it looks like Moss is going to the Raiders. He's a moron, but he's so damn good, how do you trade him for a linebacker and a couple of picks? That's nuts.

Hey Aaron, you got the jump on me also! Check it out:

Report: Vikings agree to trade Moss to Raiders
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Randy Moss is heading to Oakland, the receiver's agent said Wednesday.

Dante DiTrapano, Moss' agent, told The Associated Press that the Minnesota Vikings and the Raiders had "come to an agreement on Randy playing for Oakland next year."

Neither the Vikings nor the Raiders would confirm the deal, which was first reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press on its Web site.

"We have had discussions with the Oakland Raiders, but there's nothing to announce," Rob Brzezinski, Minnesota's vice president of football operations, told The Associated Press.

Raiders spokesman Mike Taylor declined comment on the trade reports.

FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer has learned that the Vikings and the Oakland Raiders have agreed to a trade that will send All-Pro wide receiver Randy Moss to Oakland in exchange for the Raider's first-round pick this year, a seventh-round choice and linebacker Napoleon Harris, a former first-rounder himself.

The Raiders will likely want to restructure Moss' deal to make it more cap-friendly, but the trade is not contingent on such a move.

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper told FOXSports.com at the Pro Bowl that while he hoped to have Moss around for his entire career, he was done smoothing things over between Moss and the team. Culpepper added that Moss walking off the field prematurely this past season was "terrible, how can I justify that. That was terrible."

Off-season blitz

See an off-season breakdown for all 32 teams. Full story...

The deal cannot become official until March 2, the start of the NFL's fiscal year.

"It's just like any other contract. There's a meeting of the minds between the people who negotiate for the Vikings and the people who negotiate for the Raiders," DiTrapano said. "It just hasn't been reduced to writing and it won't be until March 2."

Moss is due to make $7.25 million next year. Harris is due to make $5.41 million.

The flamboyant Moss had been the subject of trade rumors following this past season. He struggled with a hamstring injury, but still finished with 13 touchdown catches. He was fined $10,000 for pretending to pull down his pants and moon the Green Bay crowd during Minnesota's playoff win. He also drew criticism for leaving the field with 2 seconds left in a regular-season loss against Washington.

Team leaders Matt Birk and Daunte Culpepper confronted Moss after he walked off at Washington, and the organization's patience with the receiver seemed to dwindle in the past year or so.

"He's my good friend, but you almost get to thinking that maybe enough is enough," Culpepper said earlier this month at the Pro Bowl. "And maybe the Vikings organization has had enough."

DiTrapano said Moss was "very pleased to be going to Oakland and looking forward to playing with a team that's promised they're going to throw the ball deep a whole lot to him and having a chance at winning the Super Bowl."

"He doesn't leave Minnesota with any grudges," DiTrapano said. "It just was frustrating for him to lose."

He leaves Minnesota as the only receiver in NFL history to start his career with six straight 1,000-yard seasons. Last year he had 49 catches for 767 yards and 13 touchdowns while battling a hamstring injury.

On Tuesday, the Raiders re-signed Jerry Porter, their top wide receiver to a contract worth $20 million over five years. Porter could have become a free agent on March 2.

Dave Campbell, in Fort Myers, Fla., and Doug Glass, in Minneapolis, contributed to this report.

Goodbye Randy!

Farf, I agree with Hitzges on the lenght of the contract. If they sign him it'll have to be a two year deal at the most, if by that time they absolutely don't think Henson is their guy then draft someone else (My boy Drew Tate will be out by then ) and start over.

Hey Cowboy, just got this email from my radio station, if you have the time tomorrow morning, my station 1310 The Ticket is online and Drew will be interviewed by the same guys that dont like him being here, and its a 3 year deal he signed for, no money details as of yet>>>>>>> here is the email:

What's the first thing you do after you've been named the starting QB
of
the Dallas Cowboys? Well, if you're Drew Bledsoe, you schedule an
interview with The Musers.

That's right...Drew Bledsoe joins The Dunham and Miller Show at 7:45
Thursday morning (2/24).

While details of the contract have not been released, the Big
Magnificent Tuna has told Drew that he will be the starting
quarterback.
Even though he's a 12 year veteran, Drew's actually 10 years younger
than the man that he's replacing. The 33 year-old QB spent less than a
day as a free agent. Why did he sign with the Cowboys so quickly?
Listen at 7:45 to hear why he jumped at the opportunity to be a Cowboy.

From the station that's always looking to get younger at that
position...Sportsradio 1310 the Ticket.
