Obviously whoever created these characters were not thinking about marketting.
How can they make stuffed animals out of these things? Sure the old Looney Toons had stuffed animals, and they were cute and soft, and awesome in some cases (my 2 foot tall Taz stands testiment to that) But theses things, they're going to gouge out your eye with their ears. Or puncture your eardrum. Or slit your wrists or steal your wallet very dangerous situation here.

It may have worked as a stand-alone, one off movie with them maybe being evil versions of the characters or better yet, decendants of them.
Hopefully the guys behind the new designs will take heed of public opinion and stop right away.
