I didn't do anything special. Our European trip was partially a VDay gift/event (as well as a Christmas gift, graduation gift).

I don't get why there should be one day where you are expected to prove you love for someone by purchasing overpriced novelty cards and ridiculously expensive gifts.

Women or Girlfriends of members:

which would mean more?

receiving flowers and chocolates on Valentines Day because that's when you're expected to receive something OR receiving the flowers and maybe going out for a romantic meal on a completely random day when you aren't expecting it?


I'd take a wild guess and say that 85% of women would go for the latter as it would mean their partners were buying because they want to and not because they're expected to.
