Torrent Site Users, Beware!

Wow, that has to suck bigtime. Another Torrent site bit in the ass because of piracy issues. I say go after the uploaders of illegal files, not the site and owner himself. Then again, he should be punished, because he did nothing to stop the sharing of illegal files. One thing's for sure: LokiTorrent and its community got PWNED, with a rather cold dish of justice.

hmm.. I guess that's what you get for trying to get movies almost for free.

Why don't the movie industry use licenced downloads for movies just as the music industry has started to do.

If a movie costs $20 in the store then if it was bought direct from a hosted site for $10 I don't think the production companies would really lose out.

The only losers would be the retailers and they make big enough profits anyway.


As for the legal notice on the site I agree that piracy can affect creativity as the production companies have less profits to invest in new technology and develop new techniques but I don't really see how it can cost jobs.

Whether a company like WB makes $100 million dollars profit or just $20 million dollars, they aren't going to start laying off staff until they've made a few losses and I really cannot see that happening to any but the smallest companies.
