Default The Draft!?

My friend told me that Bush 'officially' went public about the draft and he said the option is on the table or some shit. Is there truth to this? Anyone?

Is your friend Voice?

Seriously though, I haven't heard anything about it and Bush has ALWAYS denied that it will be reinstated so unless something changed suddenly I'm pretty sure your friend was mistaken.

Bush has stated a few times that the draft is always an option. But he is more against reinstating it. They don't need to reinstate it. They just need to get there heads out of there asses and do a better job.

I'm satisfied with Bush, allthough I will admit his voice and pronunctiation makes me wanna drag my head on a wall. There hasn't been any more attack since 911, so obviously they're doing something right. But whatever, I rarely participate in political discussion.

Your friend reads something called Rumor Weekly...

Something that big i think would be on a major news site.

I can't believe people fall for this. Let's clear a few things up real quick.

Bush has NEVER said the draft is an option. He said, unequivocally, that we will always have an all volunteer army, for several reasons.

In addition, in order for Bush to even put forth discussion on re-instituting the draft, he'd have to pass legislation re-activating the Selective Service, something that has laid dormant for decades.

The lie about the draft came from negative liberal campaigning and was based on the assertion that our military is undermanned because we're currently deploying only a couple hundred thousand in Iraq.

However, it is imperative to note that we currently have a military of over 1.4 MILLION. Our deployment in Iraq is not representative of our military strength as a whole. In a time of all out war against another superpower, we could deploy an exponentially greater force to any given theater.

So, Game, trust your old buddy Ryan when I tell you that you, and your friends, have NOTHING to worry about. If you don't wish to serve, you won't have to.

He only managed that with a little help from the crowd, though.
